Chief Ime Johnson Memorial Foundation Uplifts Local Communities Through Large-Scale Palliative Distribution Program

In a continued effort to honor the legacy of service and compassion left behind by Chief Ime Johnson Udoito aka Baba Aju, the family of Chief Ime Johnson led by Mr. Samuel Ime Johnson successfully conducted a major community outreach program on the 6th of April 2026, distributing essential palliatives to hundreds of vulnerable households.

The distribution exercise, which took place in Chief Ime Johnson's Residence at 27 Isong Udoito Street Uqua, Eket - Akwa Ibom State Nigeria was designed to alleviate the current economic hardships faced by widows, the elderly, and low-income families. Items distributed included essential food staples such as rice, salt, maggi, tomato, vegetable oil, and other household necessities.

Speaking at the flagship distribution center, Mr. Jimmy Johnson - Chairman Board of Trustee of the Foundation, stated that the initiative is a core part of the Foundation’s mission to provide a safety net for the less privileged.


"Chief Ime Johnson was a man who believed that no member of his community should go to bed hungry," said Mr. Jimmy Johnson. "Today, we are not just giving out food; we are extending his hand of fellowship and ensuring that his spirit of generosity continues to touch lives. We understand the current economic challenges, and the Foundation remains committed to standing by our people."

The event was met with widespread gratitude from the beneficiaries. Hausa community, Igbo community, The Apostolic Church Women, Nka Umwam Mbaba Uqua, Uqua youths etc: The representative of Etebi Clan here in Eket expressed his relief saying; "This intervention came at the right time. Things have been very difficult lately, and this bag of food will go a long way for various families who are opportuned and me. We thank the Foundation for remembering us."

Beyond the distribution of food items, the Foundation also used the opportunity to engage with community leaders to identify long-term needs, including educational support and healthcare interventions, which are slated for the next phase of the Foundation’s 2027 road map.
